Costumes and prop list

Costumes:

• Clown jumpsuit -

We decided that we wanted our clown to wear the conventional and traditional clown suit as we thought that some features in our opening sequence should be conventional of the horror/thriller genre and maintain that creepy feature.

• High Boots (clowny boots) -

Similarly, we decided that the boots should also be traditional to the theme of clowns. We can then achieve a balance of conventional and unconventional feature which can get the audience confused.

• Plain White T-shirt - 

The white T-shirt will be worn by the victim to connote innocence and goodness, we want this to be worn by the victim as it can give the audience a good indication of what the victim is like.

Props:

• Fake blood - 

We wanted to use blood most importantly to enhance the realistic nature of our opening sequence and also to create a binary opposite of red blood (which connotes danger,  violence and badness) to hit the white colour of the t-shirt (which connotes purity and goodness.

• Baseball Bat -  

We decided to use a baseball bat with blood as an indicator to the audience about what sort of weapon the killer clown has used to kill the victim which is very useful as it gives the audience a quick insight as to what could of happened.

• Clown mask - 

Lastly, we chose have our clown wear a mask as we did not want to reveal the identity as of yet so that audience would want to watch on to find out who it is creating a narrative enigma. We also thought that it would be more scarier to have it on and at one stage have the clown holding it.
