Young and Rubicams type theory analysis on Fury
A few categories from Young and Rubicams type theory are used in the movie fury. The audience for this movie will fall into one or more of the categories.
The categories that are fitted for 'fury' are The explorer and The succeeder.
The Explorer:
In fury the explorer audience is used very effectively as the movie may create a new challenge that the audience can try out, in this case it is more war themed. Especially if the audience into very interested in the army and war, they may want to become an army soldier and so a movie like this would be perfect for them so that they can explore more into the theme. Also in general to people who just take on challenges, this is a very good film as it shows the conventional themes of the world war where it is known that soldiers that fought took on a major challenge.
The succeeder:
This type of audience strives for the best as they feel they deserve it. Similarly in the movie Brad Pitt who plays the main character 'war-daddy' has the exact same characteristics as the succeeder as he wants the best for his crew and believes that his crew and america deserve to win the war as he feels extremely angered by the way Germany had gone about their actions against the Jewish. The audience seeing this are then able to acknowledge the succeeder in 'war-daddy' and so they will enjoy the film much more as it fits their own personality and also influences them to have the same strong attitude that 'war-daddy' has during the film.
This is a perfect example of 'war-daddy' being the succeeder. In this clip their tank called the Sherman is much weaker than the Germans tank called the tiger and so they are expected to lose badly but due to 'war-daddies' resilience, they do not give up and instead find a weak spot in the tiger.
